Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: September 27, 2026

Create Humanly is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is the work I do for clients, so this site is held to the same standard I recommend to them.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for making web content accessible to people with disabilities, at three levels: A, AA, and AAA. This site aims to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA.

This site is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform. The known gaps are listed under Known limitations below.

Measures taken

  • Accessibility is built into the design from the start, not added afterward.
  • Text colors meet a contrast ratio of at least 7:1, the stricter AAA level, where practical.
  • Every page has a skip link, a visible keyboard focus indicator, and a logical heading structure.
  • Motion effects are turned off when your device is set to reduce motion.
  • The site does not use an accessibility overlay widget. Accessibility is handled in the content and code itself.
  • Content is reviewed by a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC).

Known limitations

These are the parts of the site that do not yet fully meet the standard, and what you can do instead.

  • Contact form labels. The form fields have accessible names, but clicking a visible label does not yet move focus to its field. If the form gives you trouble, email hello@createhumanly.com instead.
  • Deadline countdown. The weeks-remaining number on the home page updates with JavaScript. If JavaScript is turned off, the number may be out of date. The deadline dates themselves are always shown as text beside it.
  • Third-party content. The scheduling tool, LinkedIn, and YouTube are run by other companies, and I cannot control their accessibility. If one of them does not work for you, email me and I will arrange another way to connect.

Feedback and alternative formats

If you run into an accessibility barrier on this site, or need any content in another format, please tell me. I read every message and will reply as soon as I can.

Compatibility

This site is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari, and with screen readers such as NVDA and VoiceOver. It relies on HTML, CSS, and WAI-ARIA. JavaScript is used only for the deadline countdown.

How this site is assessed

Create Humanly assesses this site by self-evaluation. So far this includes automated testing with axe and a design review of color contrast, headings, and keyboard focus. Manual keyboard and screen reader testing with NVDA and VoiceOver comes next, and this statement will be updated with the results.

About the law

The ADA Title II web rule applies to state and local governments, not to private businesses like Create Humanly. That rule adopts WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This site aims for WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the newer version, which keeps nearly all of the 2.1 requirements and adds new ones.
